Speak Now Taylors Version Inspired Makeup Tutorial!

Speak Now Taylors Version Inspired Makeup Tutorial!

Hi! I decided to redo my Speak Now Taylors Version Inspired Makeup Tutorial! I didn't have a pastel purple when I did it initially. I wanted to do a softer look that would be a more "wearable" look for people who don't like as bold of looks, but still wanted to do a brighter look! I used 3 shades of purple and used my cheek highlight on the brow bone!

 Dark Magic Eyeshadow Palette Tutorial

Hello everyone! Today I have a simple makeup tutorial for you using the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Dark Magic Eyeshadow Palette! I don't believe this palette is still for sale, but you can get this look using similar eyeshadow shades! I did the whole look with 5 eyeshadows from the palette. With it being a more neutral look, I was able to work in a pop of green and keep it on the more natural side! I have a YouTube short of the eyeshadow and a video of the full makeup look uploaded for you to check out and watch the process.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I appreciate you!

Taylor Swift Debut Album Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Taylor Swift Debut Album Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Taylor Swift Debut Album Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Hello! I'm back with another Taylor Swift album inspired makeup tutorial! This time I went back to the beginning with her Debut album. The greens and blues in the albums photoshoot and album artwork are so pretty. I'm  not someone who normally wears cool tones on my eyes, like greens and blues, but I had to for this look! I think this look is pretty easy to do as well. It's a lot less intimidating than it looks! Let's get into it!

The Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette

Shades Used;

ROW 1:
Enlight / satin oat milk

ROW 5:
Pool Party / shimmering turquoise
Jada / matte teal
Diva / shimmering emerald
Enchanted / matte forest green

Starting out this look, I primed my eyelids with my concealer and set it with my setting powder. I'm going to have everything I used listed below! I did this eyeshadow look before I did my foundation or anything because I knew I was going to make a mess of my whole face lol. Starting out in the crease on a big fluffy blending brush, I took the shade Jada and blew it out all over the lid, stopping a little below the brow bone. To soften that edge, I took a smaller blending brush and blended the edge out with the shade Enlight. Deepening up the outer crease I took the shade Enchanted on a smaller blending brush, creating more of a V shape. On a flat packing brush I took the shimmer shade Pool Party and packed it on the inner 2/3's of the lid. Continuing to deepen up the outer 3rd of the lid, I used the shade Diva and packed it on, blending the two shimmer shade together. Then I cleaned everything up and sharpened the edge with a cotton round and micellar water!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed the tutorial. Make sure you follow me on my other social media platforms! I post videos almost daily!

Taylor Swift Lavender Haze Inspired Makeup tutorial

Taylor Swift Lavender Haze Inspired Makeup tutorial

Taylor Swift's Lavender Haze Inspired Makeup tutorial
Hello everyone! It's been a weird time but I'm back and better than ever! I filmed an eye makeup look inspire by the new Taylor Swift song Lavender Haze! I love Taylor's music and have since the MySpace days lol. I felt like I should mix my love of Taylor Swift & Makeup, and do some makeup looks inspired by her songs and albums! This look in particular ended up being super simple! Let's get into it! For the eyes, I used the Alamar Cosmetics Spanglish Pressed Pigment Palette! The really cool thing about this palette is there's little symbols showing which shadows are best used dry and best used wet! You can basically turn the shimmer / metallic shades into cream eyeshadows. UPDATE! She just announced the music video comes out tonight (Friday, January 27th) at Midnight (of course because what other time would she even drop something from the Midnights album?!)!! Another makeup tutorial inspired by the music video may be coming soon!!!

Alamar Cosmetics Spanglish Pressed Pigment Palette

Starting out this makeup look I used the shade Ja Ja Ja all through the crease and smoked it out to make it super soft and blended out. I went in and added extra to the outer corner and crease to concentrate the color and depth! For the inner 2/3 of the lid I used the shade Erus Un Show, wet with a packing brush and brought it just above the crease  and used some dry to soften the edge. For the outer corner I took the shade Guao, wet and packed it on, blending it in with the lid shade. That's literally it too, It's such a simple and beautiful look. I'm obsessed with this palette, it's so pigmented, the shimmers are so shiny and beautiful! Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoy the tutorial! I linked the palette, Just click the picture of it! No affiliation, just a helpful link.

Updated Makeup Brush Cleaning!

Foundation Brush before and after
Hello Everyone and welcome back! Today I have my updated makeup brush cleaning post! Over the years I've simplified a lot of what I do and how I clean my makeup brushes! All you need is your favorite antibacterial soap and a brush cleaning mat! If you don't have one of the mats, you can use your hand to agitate the bristles. My choice of antibacterial soap, is Dawn! It's been my go to for years now. When washing the brushes, use a more gentle hand but you can tell by pushing on the bristles how much pressure is needed. Run the brush under water and use a small amount of soap and scrub the bristles in circular motion to work the product out. Rinse and repeat if needed. Some pigments can stain! Once you fully rinse the brush out, gently squeeze out excess water and set aside to dry! I have posted a video of the process on all of my social media pages!

If your a visual learner, You can find the links to everything here;

Things you need:
- Dirty Makeup Brushes
- Antibacterial Soap (Dawn)
- Silicone Brush Mat (Exact one here)
- A bath towel to lay them out on after

Eyeshadow Brushes before and after

Helpful tips:
- Make sure you use lukewarm water.
- If it's too hot, you risk melting the glue and your brushes will fall apart.
- If the water is too cold, I've noticed the bristles have a harder time getting clean.
- Lay out a bath towel, roll it up on one end to create an elevated edge for the handles to rest on.
- Keep your brushes angled down so gravity helps push the water down and not into the bristles.

This is the exact one I have, you can get them a lot of places pretty inexpensive!

Colourpop x Disney; Lizzie McGuire Collection!

Colourpop x Disney; Lizzie McGuire Collection
Growing up, one of my favorite shows was The Lizzie McGuire show! I was a year younger than Lizzie was in the show. It was so relatable, I felt like a had a friend who understood what it was like being the odd one out. I think a lot of us had to deal with mean girls like 'Kate', it was a little easier seeing everyone has to deal with the same things. When coloupop announced the collection, I knew I had to get it! I decided to get it for myself for my 32nd birthday. I love everything, coloupop just knows what they're doing when they collab with brands. I wish Hilary Duff had been part of the collaboration, She was Lizzie and the collection would of been just overwhelmingly perfect!

Colourpop x Disney; Lizzie McGuire Collection
The Collection Includes;
  • What Dreams are Made of Eyeshadow Palette
  • Dear Diary; So Juicy Gloss Set
  • Seriously Cool; So Juicy Gloss Set
  • Bubblegum Pop, Lippie Scrub
  • Dee-Lish; Pressed Powder Blush
  • You Are Magnifico; Pressed Powder Blush
  • Sing To Me Paolo; Glitter Gel
  • Get A Grip; Glitter Gel
Everything is Cruelty Free!
Everything but the palette is Vegan!

Colourpop x Disney; Lizzie McGuire Collection
Per the standard of ColourPop, Everything is perfect.

The eyeshadows are super pigmented. They are so smooth and blendable. The shimmer shades are so beautiful, there is one glitter shade, It's a beautiful peachy orange!

The only thing I would change is the Blushes, They're shimmery. The shimmer dusts away if you swipe over your cheek with a clean brush. If you don't set your base, the glitters will cling to the skin. I personally like wearing my blush higher, so it ends up with my highlight over the upper portion anyway.

The glosses are thick, cling to the lips really well without sliding, and they're Not Sticky! You can't really feel the glitters in the glosses, but they do have a slight tingle to them. They're supposed to be plumping, But it's hard to tell if they work because my lips are naturally full already.

The Lip scrub is super sweep, smells and tastes like bubblegum! I'm obsessed!

The Glitter gels are so shiny, glittery, chunky. Perfect for summer, festivals, even costume makeup.

Colourpop x Disney; Lizzie McGuire Collection
Overall, I love the collection! I got it back in May for my birthday and I've played with it a few times and still love it! It's still available on the website, I can't wait to see what their next collaboration will be!!!

Peter Thomas Roth Pro Strength Microdermabrasion Blackhead Eliminator.

Peter Thomas Roth Pro Strength Microdermabrasion Blackhead Eliminator

Thank you Peter Thomas Roth for sending me this product Free before it's launched for testing purposes! Getting it early I've been able to test it out and see how it works, if it works and if I'd recommend it!

Let's talk a little about the product, price point and it's claims first. You can purchase it from Sephora for $68.00! It contains 2 fl oz and comes in a squeeze tube, which makes it easier to use compared to products that come in a pot. You're supposed to use it up to once or twice a week, depending on your skins sensitivity! The description on Sephora says "An intensive triple-action exfoliating rinse-off treatment that works to eliminate, treat, and prevent the look of blackheads, whiteheads, and clogged pores."

It contains:
[2% Salicylic Acid], to help treat acne.
[5% Microencapsulated Enzymatic Complex], which helps with the look of clogged pores caused by Blackheads & Whiteheads.
[Exfoliating Crystals], They're tiny abrasive particles to help exfoliate the sink and clear out your pores.

The product is for oily, combination, or normal Skin. It's meant to help clean your pores like it says, but it's also good for acne. Which I can honestly say I needed this week! My face has decided to suddenly break out all over after it had finally started healing. One thing to note, This is not exactly beginner level exfoliation. An exact quote from the Sephora website says "This is an expert-level exfoliator, with kaolin and bentonite clays, that chemically exfoliates with 2 percent salicylic acid, enzymatically exfoliates with a 5 percent microencapsulated enzymatic complex, and physically exfoliates with exfoliating crystals to dissolve, cleanse, and whisk away the look of blackheads and whiteheads."

The description says to lightly pat on to clean, dry skin. Do not get this product near the eyes. You only leave it on for a few minutes. The directions suggest 1 - 4 minutes, depending on the sensitivity of you skin. I have fairly sensitive skin and didn't have an issue leaving it on the full 4 minutes. It felt warm and very slightly tingly. Once you wait the few minutes, You wet your hands and massage the product in, in a circular motion, gently. Then wipe it away. My skin was a little pink and warm, but there wasn't any burning or irritation! Here in the pictures I've included, picture 1 is before, picture 2 is where I had put it on, on select areas where I have some acne flare ups and issues with congested pores, and photo 3 is after I had washed it off. My skin is noticeably more pink and shinier. I can 100% say I felt like my pores looked so much cleaner, it also seems as if it helped draw up to the surface some blackheads that were trapped under layers of skin.

This is definitely a product I'd recommend to someone who is more experienced with chemical exfoliators and how to care for your skin. After using the Peter Thomas Roth Pro Strength Microdermabrasion Blackhead Eliminator, I followed up with my usual skincare products. I didn't have any issues with sensitivity or burning when I applied them either. I'm usually pretty nervous about harsher skincare products, but I love this product! I'm going to continue to use it, but probably only once a week, since my skin is so sensitive.

Thank you all so much for reading this post. I've been a bit off my game, but I'm excited to get back into the swing of things!

Does price really matter when it comes to Skincare?

Rose Facial Serums! The Good, The Bad and The Acne!

Hello everyone and welcome back! Today I want to talk about skincare. Does price matter? Is there a difference in quality based on that price? I'm going to answer all that and talk a bit more about why. Keep in consideration this is all based on my opinion, my skin and how it's effected me. I've decided now that I receive BoxyCharm every month and get products at higher price points than I can afford, I felt like starting a new series on my website. We're going to compare prices on varying beauty products.
Today we're starting with Rose Facial Serums! The Good, The Bad and The Acne! Over the last 6 months, I have been putting two Rose oil facial serums to the test! One is budget friendly, and the other is not. Depending how much you're willing to drop on skincare that is...

Let's start with the budget friendly rose oil first. Packaging is beautiful, glass jar and glass dropper. It feels very nice for a more inexpensive product. I've been using the Province Beauty oil for a little over a month. I believe it's the World Market in-store brand. I got mine at Marshall's for $6.99, they have it for $12.99 on the World Market website. I'll make sure everything is linked. Everyday I would wash my face using the Clean and Clear, Oil Free Acne Face Wash. Once I pat my face dry I use a few drops of the Province Beauty rose oil and press it into my face a neck. At first I really liked it, not overly fragranced and sunk into my skin really well. Within a week I was getting breakouts. I thought they might be hormonal, so I continued with the routine. After a month, my acne was pretty bad so I stopped using the oil and after a week my face calmed down considerably. I've been using it on my body and it's been working really well with my dry skin. I definitely wouldn't suggest using this on your face if you're prone to acne! Yes, I know the bottle says it's for body and hair, but I read up on it and knew there was a risk it could trigger my acne. Some people have used it and it's helped theirs. It's all about your individual skin cell makeup and if something is going to work for you. Always keep that in mind!
Now, on to the pricey rose oil! In December 2019 I got my first BoxyCharm base box. It's $25 a month for 5 full size beauty items. One of the items I got was the Elemis Pro-Collagen Rose Facial Oil. It's marketed as a soothing facial oil. Their website says the oil is meant specifically for your face and neck. I decided to use this oil the same way I did with the less expensive one. Noticeably immediately is the consistency! It's so light weight and thin. I didn't realize an oil could be so thin, it's almost like water! There's a beautiful real rose scent that isn't sweetened up like most rose products. After washing my face and applying it to my face everyday for just a week, I noticed a huge difference in my acne and skin texture. I have Keratosis pilaris, a lot of us have it and I'm sure you probably didn't know it had a name. It's those little bumps you get on your upper arms and sometimes on legs or elsewhere. I have it on my lower cheek area which causes a lot of texture! I have genuinely seen it calmed and less noticable using the Elemis rose oil. I'm not sure if it's because of it being pro-collagen or if it's because it's really well made without tons of ingredients, but I'm obsessed! This is one time I'm definitely glad I'm a boxycharm member, I was able to pick up a second bottle in the pop-up shop for like $10, keep in mind it's a $79 product. Well worth the money to be honest, but that discount is insane!

I think we've all by now realized which I would recommend and why. I'll say it louder for the ones in the back though. The Pro-Collagen Rose Facial Oil is a miracle worker and worth the $79 price point! In my opinion, anyway. I don't think I'll ever stop using it to be honest. There's been very few products I've found that I've liked this much! I've now been working on this blog post for far too long. I'm sorry it's taken so long to get anything else up. Depression really is out here getting the best of me. I hope you're all having a good day, do something that makes you happy today!

Xoxo, Lulu.

New year, Same Lulu.

Hello Everyone! I hope you had an amazing holiday season! It's me, Lulu, popping in to update you guys and say what's up lol.
Over the past year, my blogging became pretty inconsistent! I'm sorry for that. All I can honestly say is I have bad anxiety, depression and I'm a champion procrastinator! In 2020, we're changing some stuff! I'm going to do a lot more product reviews, tutorials here and there. If you have anything you want me to review, let me know!

In December I got my first Boxycharm! I have a few products I got in it that I want to do dedicated posts on! I so far love Boxycharm! It's worth so much more than $25 a month! Half the products in it are worth more than that! Would you guys like a monthly Boxycharm post? I'd definitely be down to do that!
For Christmas this year I got myself the Morphe x Jeffree Star palette, I just played in it for the first time tonight and posted a little tiktok, it's not cute, but we out here! I'm planning on posting a tutorial this coming week using that palette! I have some new makeup I've been enjoying. I've been lucky enough to try some new things! I finally feel like I've got a variety of products to use in tutorials and videos. Which I do have a YouTube! I'm pretty sure it's Lindaxhella. I have to have over 1k subs or something like that to be able to change that!
To get myself pushed back into blogging, I'm going to start posting at least once a week. If you wanna keep up with me on an everyday basis, catch me on Instagram or tiktok. Yes, I've joined the world of tiktok! I haven't posted much but it's just for fun! All my socials are Luluslifebeauty! You can find me on most social media places.
One more thing, I'm a huge nerd. I love all things gaming and Harry Potter. Let me know if you'd like me to make a post dedicated to the PC games I play, books I've enjoyed. Just hit me up on social media or in the comment section below!
I love you all. Thank you to those of you who have stuck around and pop in on me from time to time. I see the views going up consistently everyday, I feel bad I don't post more. But it's time to change that. Enjoy some photos I've popped in. You can find them on my Instagram!

Xoxo Lulu.
